Encaustic is an ancient art form that uses beeswax to create a variety of wonderful artistic creations. Beeswax can be pigmented and used to paint pictures. Wax can be layered, scraped, burned and combined with a variety of other media including paper, birch and clay board. My interest in encaustic started with the wonderful smell that beeswax has and went from there. I am including a gallery of some of my finished pieces. Once again it is the playing with the media that potentially brings one to the doorway into new ways of experiencing the inner and outer worlds of our lives.
